When an injured person chooses us to represent them we consider it an honor. We are aware there are thousands of lawyers in Arkansas and we are flattered when folks ask us to represent them. Usually, when they come to us they are in pain and their whole life has been turned upside down. They are drowning in paper work and have been asked to sign documents they don't understand. The first thing we do is sit down with them and inform them of their rights, show them how we can help them and tell them what to expect.
Before I was a lawyer I taught school so it comes natural to me to spend time explaining what we can do to help. We won't take a case unless we believe it's in our client's best interest. If we don't believe that we can get them more money than they can get on their own we won't take their case. Almost always when people leave our office they tell me they feel a huge burden has been lifted from their shoulders. They need to focus on healing and let us deal with the rest. Making people happy the first day they come to see us is easy but our goal is for them to be happy on the last day as well.
We take pride in representing working people. Probably the reason for this is that I have been working since I was twelve years old doing construction work, working on a farm, and doing whatever it took to pay my way through school. The first few years I was a lawyer I represented insurance companies and, although I never lost a case, I didn't like the way it felt. These were not my people and it was not where I came from. But, the upside to this is that I understand insurance companies and "I know what they eat for breakfast". I use this to my client's advantage.
When you come to our office expect to see me wearing jeans and cowboy boots and talking "straight talk". Be assured, I would appreciate the opportunity of representing you.

Sometimes people describe me as meticulous and serious. I think that comes from the seriousness of our client's injuries and how their lives are affected by the accidents they've been involved in. Most of the time our clients were just going about their everyday lives when suddenly everything changes. When they come to us they are quite rightly shaken up and extremely frustrated with the system. I take pride in fighting for my clients and being their advocate whether it be in the courtroom or in dealing with the insurance companies. It's sad to say but gone are the days when people can deal with the insurance companies on their own and expect them to do the right thing and be fair with their settlement offers. We are able to settle about 95% of our cases without going to court. We attribute that to being what some might describe as "overly prepared" and tough. I've found in my 16 years of practice that's the best way to be when you intend to get the most money for your client. I appreciate people taking the time to research their options on who should represent them. We offer free consultations and I hope they give us a call and let us help them evaluate their case.
